Icho to Seymour – Intertidal Walk

with La Rocque Harbour by Intertidal Walks

Icho to Seymour – Intertidal Walk

Follow the tide out and walk across the seabed to two iconic landmarks off the south east coast of the Island, Icho Tower and Seymour Tower. This walk is only possible at extreme low tides, and not for the faint-hearted. Walk out to where the wild things live, knowing that you are one of the few to do so in 2027.

Distance 6-8km;

Duration 4-5 hours;

Moderate pace; Terrain moderate.

Experience big skies and watch as a vast expanse of seabed becomes visible as the tide ebbs away from the shore leaving what is usually underwater visible. This is a bucket list walk for locals and visitors alike and is not possible every year. The rugged, rocky intertidal is a very special and fragile place, and this walk is not for everyone. Participants must be in good health and able to walk unaided at a moderate pace for several hours, over sand, gravel, rocks and through water. The surface will be uneven and at times unstable, and there will be no amenities except at the start and end of the walk. This walk is not suitable for children under 16 and no dogs are permitted.
