Intertidal Walk to Seymour Tower

Step off the shore into the beautiful rocky intertidal zone off the south east corner of the island, and walk out to this iconic landmark that has stood like a sentinel, almost 2km offshore, for over 225 years. Duration: 3 hrs, Terrain: Easy - Moderate.
Built on a small islet called L’Avarizon, Seymour Tower has stood the test of time, and one of the highest tidal ranges in the world, for centuries. Cut-off by rapidly rising tides, this is an extreme environment, and one where humans cannot compete with nature. An experienced guide will lead you across the seabed through shallow streams and tidal pools to the Tower, and bring you back to shore with a different perspective of the intertidal zone.
Please dress appropriately for the weather, and it can be chillier than you expect. Wellies are recommended, especially in the cooler months, and old trainers or sea shoes are great in the summer months. Wellies and waterproofs are available free of charge, and must be reserved during the booking process. No dogs are permitted. See online for more information about the walks.
