Jèrriais Section of the Jersey Eisteddfod 2027

Celebrate Jersey’s unique Norman language at the Jèrriais Section of the Jersey Eisteddfod 2027, forming part of MILLENIUM 2027 – European Year of the Normans. This vibrant festival showcases the performing arts through poetry, songs and performances, bringing together Jèrriais speakers and learners of all ages.

Taking place as part of the Jersey Eisteddfod, this special section provides a platform for performers to share their passion for Jèrriais in front of a live audience. The programme includes both school and adult categories, with primary and secondary pupils learning poems and songs over several weeks before presenting their performances and receiving certificates of participation.

The adult section welcomes anyone learning Jèrriais, with participants able to perform a set piece from the syllabus or a piece of their own choice. With free admission for the public, the event offers a wonderful opportunity to experience Jersey’s living language tradition and see how Jèrriais continues to inspire creativity across generations.
