White Ribbon Day - It Takes All of Us

at Royal Yacht Hotel by Freeda Jersey

An evening with former rugby player Wesley Cunliffe and a local panel on how men and boys can help end violence against women and girls.

In aid of Freeda Jersey. Violence against women and girls doesn’t come out of nowhere. It begins with the attitudes and behaviours too often dismissed as “just a joke”, “a bit of banter” or “boys being boys”. If nobody challenges it, nothing changes. It Takes All of Us.

This White Ribbon Day, Freeda hosts a thought-provoking evening exploring the role that men and boys can play in building a safer and more equal future.

The guest speaker is Wesley Cunliffe, who will share his personal journey from a childhood shaped by domestic abuse, exploitation and crime to a successful career in professional and international rugby. Drawing on his own lived experience, he now works to support victims of domestic abuse, while championing men’s and boys’ mental health and encouraging positive masculinity and active allyship. Wesley will be joined by a panel of local experts and professionals from across different sectors. Together, they will explore the influence of sport and positive role models, the challenges facing young men and boys, and how everyone can speak up against the everyday attitudes and behaviours that allow misogyny and violence to take root.

Nobody needs to change the world to make a difference. Sometimes change begins with a conversation, challenging a harmful comment or refusing to laugh along.

The evening is a chance to listen, learn and consider the part each person can play, because ending violence against women and girls really does take all of us.
