Love Through the Seasons

Join the Jersey Chamber Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra and Celoniatus Ensemble for 'Love Through the Seasons', a breathtaking musical journey marking 1,000 years of Norman history. Combining orchestral favourites with newly commissioned works, this special performance forms part of MILLENIUM 2027 – European Year of the Normans.
Directed by violin soloist Harriet Mackenzie, Love Through the Seasons takes audiences on a journey across the North Sea world, exploring the Norman story from Viking origins and expansion, through settlement in Jersey and Guernsey, to the rise of William the Conqueror and the lasting influence of the Norman era.
The programme features major repertoire alongside four newly commissioned works, celebrating the shared heritage that connects communities shaped by Norman history. The second half presents Love Through the Seasons, a reimagined cycle inspired by the enduring partnership between William the Conqueror and Matilda of Flanders.
Part of an international tour organised by Music in Action (Jersey).
