Seeing The Light Exhibition

at Jersey Museum

Seeing The Light Exhibition

Inspired by the exceptional properties of the light in Jersey, which have made it home to artists over the centuries, this exhibition is a rare chance to view works from the Jersey Heritage collection that see the light in different ways

This exhibition examines how Jersey artists have treated light as a subject in their work. The clarity of light in Jersey – the sunniest place in the British Isles – has long been recognised by visiting and local artists as a unique and attractive feature of the Island. The exhibition examines artists' responses to Jersey's natural light through the lens of light as a subject, as a contemplation and as a tool to market a vision of Jersey.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see artworks from the Jersey Heritage collection that have not been on display for a number of years.
